Strategy 2026–2028 〰️

Our Mission

The purpose of i dolci is to promote, support, and develop activity across different art forms, with a focus on the intersections between dance, music, and visual arts.

Our Operating Environment

i dolci renews interdisciplinary thinking and creates new opportunities between the independent art field and art institutions. Its projects are always realized in collaboration with other actors in the art field — such as performance venues, exhibition spaces, festivals, studio collectives, etc. Our activities enrich the contemporary art scene broadly, as the projects we produce also attract new audiences for our partners.

Our Vision

i dolci creates high-quality and ambitious interdisciplinary art in a sustainable way. We aim to enable new artistic forms and act as a flexible support for projects, works, and ideas that do not fit neatly within a single art form. We are an organization that is ready to do things differently.

Our Values

Being Affected

Our work is based on interdisciplinarity — by which we mean a deepened encounter and collaboration between art forms. In our projects, creators, working methods, and aesthetics from different disciplines affect one another, blend together, and move through each other.

Not-Knowing

We operate between already-known and defined fields, ideas, and forms. We deviate from the conventions of various performance and art presentation practices and experiment with new approaches.

Responsibility

Our work is socially and ecologically sustainable. A unifying aspect of i dolci’s practice is its questioning nature: How do we create? How could we create differently? Why are we used to doing things this way? We act as a responsible and reliable employer and are willing to change our practices when necessary.

Strategic Goals and Their Monitoring

We focus our work on four strategic objectives, which are reviewed in our annual action plan and monitored in our annual reports. The association’s board evaluates the implementation of these goals and updates the strategy as needed.

1. Sustainability

We work in collaboration with existing organizations, materials, spaces, and structures. Our goal is not to expand the scale of our activities or the number of events merely for the sake of growth, but rather to work with greater depth and sustainability within the projects included in our action plan.

2. Expanding Audiences and Interdisciplinarity

We aim to find new partnerships and audiences across music, visual arts, and dance — thereby broadening the ways of working interdisciplinarily, both spatially and conceptually.

3. Equal Employment

An important goal for i dolci is the equitable employment of art professionals in the association’s own productions. We strive to create opportunities and space with awareness of our own starting points and the specific challenges of different art forms in relation to diversity and equality.

4. Good Governance

We also dismantle interdisciplinary barriers at the administrative level. We make formal contracts with every artist participating in our projects, accompanied by accessibility guidelines. In our pay practices, we follow the collective labour agreements and fee practices of the main art form of each project, or alternatively use flexible daily wage models better suited to freelance work — ensuring that different roles or disciplines are not valued by unequal criteria.
